Bike Fitting with Fit Kit Systems
Most bike shops create a dedicated bike fitting
area to serve their customers. The Fit Kit System enables you to help
customers with equipment selection, shoe fitting, cleat installation and adjustment
in a
timely and knowledgeable manner. Most bike dealers charge $25 to $35 for a Quick Fit which
is suitable for mid to low end bike purchases and
usually takes about ten minutes for measuring and assessment. You can credit
the cyclist for the cost of a bike fitting if he or she purchases a bike
from your shop. The Quick Fit can be offered to every customer that
comes in your bike store as the beginning of a service based relationship.
Shops usually charge from $65 to $100 for
a Performance Fit which covers bike fitting, cleat alignment and fine
tuning. A bike fitting session of this type can take up to two hours and is
suited for mid to high end bike purchases, custom bikes and retrofitting.
Three Bike Fitting Kits Tailored to Meet Your Needs
We offer a variety of bike fit kits that are suited to the type of bikes you sell and the level of fitting service you want to provide.
The Quick Fit Kit is designed as a sales
tool that allows you to shift the customer's attention off the bikes and
put it onto their needs and physical condition. Using their measurements,
soft tissue considerations, and their price range, you can confidently recommend
several bikes that will best suit them. Using this kit as a sales tool, you
can take any bike customer from the floor to the door for a test ride in 15 minutes.
The Performance Kit adds the power
of our Fit Kit Pro Software and the expertise contained in our
Master Manual. These are bike fitting diagnostic tools
that enable you to provide performance fits, retrofits, and confidently order
custom bikes. You don't have to fumble with tape measures while setting the saddle height. Set the
Seat Height Tool at the height you want and bring the saddle
up to meet it in one easy step.
The RAD Kit is a cleat
alignment tool that enables you to find the rotational center for SPD
style cleats and others such as Look, Campy, Time, or Shimano SPDR. Any cyclist
complaining of knee, hip or ankle pain should receive this bike fitting service.
We recommend cleat alignment with fixed and floating pedal systems. A pedal
that has 7 to 15 degrees of float actually yields only 3.5 to 7.5 degrees
off of rotational center. Without proper alignment, the cyclist may ramp up
against one side or the other during their pedal stroke resulting in possible
injury to knees, hip or ankle.
We've provided a comparison chart to help you determine the right Fit Kit for your bike fitting business.
Upgrade Your Existing Fit Kit
You can order individual bike fitting components in our Fit Kit Store. Items include the Rideable and Nonrideable Adjustable Fit Stem. The Rideable Fit Stem is a fine tuning tool many recreational and performance bike riders will gladly rent from you to enhance their comfort and performance. Eliminate the frustration of ordering and changing out stems while the bike customer experiments with their stem position. The Nonrideable Adjustable Fit Stem is meant for in store use only.
